Management

Don Baxter, P.Eng.

CEO and Director

Mr. Baxter is one of the premier graphite experts outside of China, having built one of only two producing graphite mines in North America with extensive Sri Lankan experience. Don gained extensive operational experience in Sri Lanka as CEO of Ceylon Graphite, advancing several mining properties. Don served as President, CEO and Executive Director of Alabama Graphite Corp, successfully completing the company’s disruptive Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) and introducing a new, battery-focused strategy.
Don holds a degree in Mining Engineering from Queen’s University, is a Registered Professional Engineer and, is a past member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Advanced Technology Batteries International (NAATBatt International). Don has extensive knowledge in the lithium ion battery space as it pertains to graphite. He has developed various natural graphite sources for use in batteries, and most sigficantly he was the first to process vein graphite into anode material for lithium ion batteries, and reveal the superior characteristics of vein graphite in a battery.

Chaanaka Abeyratne

Director, Country Manager

Mr Abeyratne is an Attorney at Law in Sri Lanka, with nearly 25 years experience. He has been involved with the Graphite mining industry in Sri Lanka for the last 8 years and is an expert in permitting and compliance.  Mr Abeyratne will provide AGT with invaluable in country operating experience to allow for expedited development of AGT mining properties.

Rob Scott

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Scott is an accomplished professional with over 25 years professional experience in accounting and corporate compliance, corporate finance, and merchant and commercial banking. He is a CPA, CA and a CFA Charterholder and has spent the last 18 years as a Senior Officer and Director of a number of issuers listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. In that time he has helped raise in excess of $200 million in equity and has gained extensive experience in initial public offerings, reverse takeovers, corporate restructuring and mergers and acquisitions, as well as cost effective management of operations.

He currently holds Management and Board Positions with a number of TSX-V Listed Issuers.

Michelle Borromeo

Vice President, Investor Relations

Ms. Borromeo has over 15 years of experience in the natural resources and renewable energy industries. She previously held the position of Vice President Corporate Development at Mars Investor Relations where she managed numerous mining client companies. She has led the Investor Relations and Corporate Communications efforts for Chakana Copper Corp, Miller Energy Resources, and for Fission Uranium, which was acquired by Denison mines. Ms. Borromeo started her career working as a field biologist, which included performing reclamation/remediation site assessments and preparing Emergency Response Plans for Oil & Gas companies. She holds a BSc. in Biology and Minor in Geology from Simon Fraser University.

Sunil Sharma, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Sharma has over 20 years of experience in finance and accounting with public and private companies, having started his career in public practice. He has extensive experience in producing mines and mineral exploration companies. He has held progressively senior accounting positions at copper producers Huckleberry Mines and Taseko Mines Limited. Most recently, he held the position of Controller at Trilogy Metals Inc., a NYSE-American listed mineral exploration company, where he was responsible for all aspects of financial reporting and compliance. Mr. Sharma holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

Ms. Borromeo has over 15 years of experience in the natural resources and renewable energy industries. James Ruane

Chairman

Mr Ruane has thirty-one years as a Managing Director with leading advisory firms such as PwC, KPMG, Huron Consulting and currently as Managing Member of Whitney Hill Partners. Jim was the Chief Opperating Officer of a coal mining, coal processing and coking manufacturing company. Jim served on President Reagan’s Private Sector Survey informally known as the Grace Commission, evaluating the coal procurement policies at the TVA. He has an MBA from Duke University a BS from St. Francis University and a Certificate in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a Certified Turnaround Professional and has held Series 7 and 63 Registrations. He served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps managing a logistics operation.

Rodney Stevens, CFA

Director

Mr. Stevens has worked in the mining securities industry, initially as an Investment Analyst with Salman Partners Inc. during which time he received recognition as a top-rated analyst for the metals & mining industry. Subsequently, he was a merchant banker with Peninsula Merchant Syndications Corp. and Portfolio Manager at Wolverton Securities Ltd. Rodney also served as Vice President of Ceylon Graphite, providing direct graphite industry experience.

Ian Harris

Director

Mr. Harris is a mining engineer with over 20 years’ experience leading mining projects worldwide including over 10 years working and living in South America. Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer of AMAK Mining and Para Resources. Mr. Harris was also Senior Vice President and Country Manager of Corriente Resources through feasibility, initial engineering, and commencement of construction at the Mirador mine in Ecuador. He successfully led the push to reactivate Corriente’s mining projects in Ecuador by building national and local support and navigating through a new constitution and a new mining law, leading to the sale of Corriente for $690 million. Mr. Harris is bilingual in Spanish and English.
